Excess body heat can build up in the mattress during the night, particularly in the area directly beneath the body. The materials inside a mattress therefore play an important role in how effectively that heat can be managed.

The BLACKROLL® RECOVERY BASE ELITE uses AURALITH® strips as part of its internal construction to address this. Made from thin, flexible graphite, the strips are designed to carry excess heat through the mattress core, where it can gradually dissipate.

How AURALITH® Helps Manage Heat

The graphite panels beneath the mattress surface absorb excess body heat faster than regular foam and can temporarily store more heat without allowing it to build up directly beneath the sleeper. The heat is then transferred to the AURALITH® strips.

Because graphite conducts heat significantly faster than regular foam, the strips create an efficient pathway for heat to travel through the mattress core. This helps prevent excess heat from remaining concentrated in the foam directly beneath the body.

AURALITH® strips are used to support this continuous heat flow through the mattress core.

Measurable Heat Dissipation

The effect can be measured. Testing showed +64.94% heat flow dissipation, indicating that heat was transported away from the lying surface more efficiently. Measurements also showed a surface temperature around 1.85 °C lower beneath the foam surface.

AURALITH® provides a passive way to dissipate excess heat through the mattress core. No electricity. No noise.

What the Results Mean for Hot Sleepers

For hot sleepers, RTINGS' results provide a useful benchmark for evaluating cooling performance. Independent testing offers measurable data on how effectively a mattress dissipates heat over time, providing a more objective way to assess cooling claims.
